Our tea is grown away from strong sunlight. So unlike ordinary tea leaves grown in strong sunlight, it develops soft buds with deeper flavor. The tea is then ground into a fine powder using a millstone, and henceforth called matcha. Matcha is quite expensive if compared to other powdered green teas. The reason is because for matcha it takes more time and effort than ordinary tea to cover the fields in reed screens and pick the leaves. And even after picking, grinding tea using a millstone is very labor intensive. Our matcha is delivered to our customers at it's very best condition with the utmost time and effort put in.

Our matcha uses high-quality leaves cultivated in a region blessed with good drainage, fertile soil and climate (temperature difference between day and night, amount of precipitation). Nowadays our matcha is an established brand being used in a variety of sweets and beverages. Since our matcha is of such a high-quality grade in both color and flavor, we deliver large quantities of fresh ground matcha for use in tea ceremony and at specialty matcha confectionery shops.




From cultivation to grinding, we make matcha completely by ourselves on our own tea plantation in Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It's grown organically on our tea plantation of approx. 40,000 m2. It's been 10 years since we started organic cultivation. Finally we are now able to make tea we feel satisfied with.
